I was booked to return to the Goldstrike, but the terrible
flooding of the Mississippi river has caused damage and evaculations to thousands of homes and businesses.
We wish them all dry weather and a quick recovery.

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011The Best in Tunica
The Goldstrike is ranked high on my list!
It is part of the MGM and Mlife family it brings a little bit of Vegas to Tunica.
The rooms are 4 stars the casino layout and spacing is very good.
Very good on comps and service.
For the true Gambler this is a great spot…….one thing makes them excellent, they have true casino host!!
If you’re a true gambler the casino hosts here will take great care of you……at first I thought I was just lucky
and happen to get one good host, but after she retired her replacement was every bit as good.
Even if you are not a big gambler the mlife players card comp system works great.
They have a very nice spa to relax and some great resturants.
I’ll be updateding this one a lot…..so check back often and feel free to ask question in the comment box.
Horseshoe Casino, Tunica, MS.
Monday, February 21st, 2011Last year I would of highly recommended this casino hotel for the pure gambler “BUT” over the past six to eight months it has dropped way down my list.
For a long list of reasons, it’s shocking they’ve changed so much!!
The Hotel is “nice” I give it 3 stars, they have a full range of slots and table games and are a member of the Harrah/Caesars players card group.
They have a Diamond lounge for Diamond card holders, excellent and unique buffet and the one of the best all night snack bars called Aces High.
Where they’ve really gone down hill, well let’s start with the slots. The slots used to have a fair rating and with so many in a close space you’d hear machines ringing and jackpot cashiers fairly busy.
Now whether you’re playing the 5 cent machines or the 50 dollar machine they are so ”TIGHT” you quickly get tired of feeding them bills.
I find this pretty silly, since it’s common knowledge people will play longer and spend more in slots for entertainment if they are winning a little a long the way.
Second; They’ve made the tables uncomfortable to play, they’ve put three or four rows of tables in the space more sized for two rows. Ad the live band stage (with bar room type bands) blasting right over the table area ( I like to hear myself think when I’m betting large on cards)
The Horseshoe still busy on the weekends, it seems Management has targeted a lower spending local crowd and driving away upscale business.
Comp Rating; Very Low
I hope they wake-up soon, I’d be thrilled to upgrade them!
